Here is my Miniature Multicolor Ocean Waves Quilt. It is hard to see the colors in the photo, so I tried to scan a close-up for you. The quilt is 13.5" x 16.5" and I didn't count the number of pieces, but there are a lot. The half square triangle units finish at 3/8" square. The fabrics are ca. 1870's in my favorite colors - double pink, double blue, red, yellow and green. Although my photo isn't the best, these colors really work in a miniature.

My husband and I are scheduled to go to a quilt study day in August. We will be studying quilts from the 1870's and I wanted to make something special for the day. Dating fabrics is difficult and it is fun to get something that is so easy to identify. Even though this fabric says 1776 under the portrait, it was made in 1876 to celebrate the centennial. It is lovely fabric. I have designed a quilt around it. I will be sharing it in future posts. I purchased this fabric from
Mary Koval when she used to set up a booth at the Paducah Quilt Show. It has been in my stash for a long time, but the time has come to use it!
